Highly concentrated leaf extracts high in isoflavones have recently been promoted for use in hormonal imbalances including menopause. However, clinical trials for such extracts cast doubts on their effectiveness. If pregnant or breastfeeding or on birth control pills, it would be advisable to consult your physician before using the herb. Those with thrombosis or heart disease should also consult their practitioner before using.

SERVING SUGGESTION

Infuse 1 teaspoon of dried herb in 1 cup of boiling water. To make a wash for weeping eczema, combine Red Clover with Nettle and Heartsease.
